In the designer's own words:

“This year's cover was designed by Pacifica Gallery, an industrial design firm based in Bethesda, Maryland. As explained by Pacifica president Jun Eusebio, the design visualizes the theme of our Independence Day celebration for 2003 'Embracing Our Diversity'.

The word Filipino in the top segment of the lay-out was rendered using different lettertypes representing the multifarious cultural and spiritual heritage inherent in today's Filipino. And as a reflection of life, although the letters do not match, they still maintain the visual harmony of the word that spells our nationality.

The phrase 'We are Filipino, We are One' strengthens the idea of a union of spirit that dwells in every true Filipino's heart. The round object in the center of the design is interpreted as a global bouquet of people. The flower-like images which in actuality is a mosaic of human shapes in different colors represent the concept of oneness in today's world of concordant existence. The design was also used in the Gala Ball invitation and the Independence Day promotional posters and fliers.

Aside from managing his business enterprises, Jun Eusebio is also involved in community service, he is presently vice-president of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Washington DC. For more information about his company, visit their website at www.pacificagallery.com.“
